Is Virginia "FORE" Lovers or "FORE" Golfers?

Is Virginia "FORE" Lovers or is Virginia "FORE" Golfers? Williamsburg golf is headlined by, but not limited to Golden Horseshoe and Kingsmill Resort for outstanding golf courses. The Kingsmill River Course has hosted several PGA and LPGA events over the past 3 decades, including the current LPGA Kingsmill Championship that is taking place from September 3rd through September 9th. The Golden Horseshoe is rated as one of the top 100 golf courses in America by Golf Digest. A Williamsburg Golf Trip features over a dozen Championship golf courses, many that are rated 4 stars or higher by Golf Digest. Not to mention Williamsburg, Virginia is also a top 25 golf destination.
Williamsburg golf course selection on a golf trip can be mixed and matched or simply play multiple round packages with the same resort or management group. Golden Horseshoe offers better pricing for playing both the Gold and Green course in the same package. Kingsmill with the River course, Woods course, and Plantation course also feature better pricing as well for playing 2 or all 3 courses. This is a pretty common thread among Williamsburg properties and is something that the management group of Traditional Golf Properties does as well in a golf package that includes playing at Royal New Kent, Stonehouse, and Brickshire. However, don't let these multiple course packages deter you from playing some of the great independently run courses that the Williamsburg area has to offer, like Kiskiack Golf Club, Colonial Heritage, and Viniterra. Also, don't forget Ford's Colony and Williamsburg National, both have multiple courses on-site with terrific layouts.
Virginia golf packages offer multiple different packaging options from hotels to villas and golf at nationally recognized golf resorts or daily fee courses. Lodging options with Virginia Golf Packages starts with an economic choice, such as the Days Inn and ranges to townhomes at Williamsburg Plantation, The Colonies, Powhatan Plantation, or Greensprings. Early November and mid to late
March are great times to escape cooler temperatures or unplayable winters conditions up north and take advantage of non-peak pricing for Williamsburg golf courses and lodging providers. Course conditions may not be in prime season form but it is still worth the drive and escaping the cold for an early or late season golf rounds! If you make an early spring trip be prepared for dormant Bermuda grass like most southern destinations, but other than looking at brown grass it still beats sitting in the house, looking out the window starring at snow? Doesn't it?
So, if you are looking for a destination to take your next golf trip, Williamsburg should definitely be put at the top of your short list as it is filled with championship golf courses and accolades to go with them. With about 15 golf courses in the area, there is a golf package for every golfer. Whether you are on a limited budget or are just looking for a first class golf package, Virginia Golf Packages can customize a package to fit your needs. Not to mention Williamsburg is a much shorter drive than most south eastern destinations and an area that is rich in United States history. Other area attractions feature Busch Gardens, Water Country, Great Wolf Lodge, Jamestown, Yorktown, Colonial Williamsburg, The College of William and Mary, and Prime Outlets. Plenty of great golf, shopping, history, and family entertainment make Williamsburg a desired area and once people come one time, then tend to come back time and time again.
www.virginiagolfpackages.com has been planning group outings since 2009 and loves to offer suggestions for new golf destinations to visit and play in the beautiful State of Virginia.

Kentucky Golf

The State of Kentucky has many attractions from the Kentucky Derby, the Louisville Slugger museum, renowned bourbon distilleries, and one of the greatest college basketball traditions in the country. What many people do not realize is that Kentucky is home to some of the best golf courses in America. For starters Kentucky is home to Valhalla Golf and Country Club which is one of only three facilities owned by the PGA of America. The PGA of America purchased the property for the sole purpose of hosting major and prestigious golf tournaments.  While Valhalla is the States most recognized golf course, it is certainly not the only premier golf course in Kentucky. Kentucky is home to some of the most beautiful and challenging facilities in America, and many of the courses offer a variety of picturesque landscapes, such as the Appalachian Mountains in the east, the Ohio River to the north, and award winning horse farms and countless lakes throughout the state. While Kentucky golf does have its fair share of links-style facilities, it prides itself with the more traditional style golf courses that offer tree-lined fairways, small and extremely quick greens; all of which exemplify the characteristics that make these unique facilities unlike any other across the country. Another unique quality that Kentucky courses have to offer is the fact that the climate change throughout various regions of the State allows golf course superintendents to use many different strands of grass on their courses. In the southern and western region of the state many of the courses have Bermuda fairways and greens which thrive in the hot, dry summers. Other regions of the State offer bent, rye, and zoysia fairways and greens which produce ideal conditions throughout the spring, summer, and fall temperature changes. The majority of courses use Kentucky Bluegrass, or fescue for their rough because it recovers so well from the everyday wear and tear and its ability to be cut at various heights all year around. So the next time you plan to book your golf vacation remember to keep in mind all of the wonderful attractions Kentucky has to offer, as well as the countless premier golf courses that this distinctive state has to offer.
